My Story
D’s School of Motoring was established by me, Diane Harvey in 2011. I am a fully qualified and RSA approved driving instructor (ADI number: 37268). D’s School of Motoring is based in Killybegs and operates all over South-West Donegal.
Not only do we provide each of the courses mentioned here but we also actively promote road safety within the community.
This work along with the exceptional service provided by us has resulted in the awards and videos shown below.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
My Awards and Accreditation's
Road Safety Authority
Being an approved driving instructor (ADI) means that I uphold and practice the RSA's set of standards. I am fully Gardai vetted and abide by the RSA's voluntary code of practices. The commitment to road safety is expected of all students who enroll in D's School of Motoring. The best way to ensure this is achieved is to teach every student to the highest standard. This level of teaching is recognised by the RSA and has lead to me winning the Approved Driving Instructor of the year award twice, consecutively in 2012 and 2013. An achievement which is the first in the history of this national award.
IAM Road Smart
The Institute of Advanced Motorists is the UK's largest independent road safety charity. Its mission of improving driving standards and road safety is shared by D's school of motoring. In 2015 I was delighted to obtain a certificate which means that I am a member of the Advanced Motorists community
Local Development CLG.
As a small business owner I was delighted, in 2014, to win two awards from the Donegal Local Development Company The first, of two, of the Wild Geese Whiskey sponsored awards was an 'Acknowledgment of Excellence Award' for establishing D's School of Motoring. The second award, 'Outstanding Achievement' being obtained as a result of the growth of the school from it's establishment until 2014. As a sole operator it was great to see my continous hard work pay off!
ROSPA Authority
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents was established in 1916. Their vision is a life, free from accidental injury As part of this vision they encourage improved driving standards and offer training to achieve this. In 2017 achieved a Gold certificate of 'Advanced Driver and Riders' which certifies me to instruct Advanced Driving courses

In 2016 I earned the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland's certificate in 'Road Safety, Mobility and Health. It is this certificate which enables D's School of Motoring to issue recommendations as part of the 'Medical Fitness to drive report. The training required to achieve this certificate allows for the 'Mobility Driving Assessment' service.
